second pregnancy

Differences that you can expect in your second pregnancy

Showing earlier : You may notice your  waist getting bigger or thicker sooner than your first pregnancy. This could be due to the fact that the  previous pregnancy stretched the abdominal muscles.

Increased fatigue :  You may feel more tired during the second pregnancy. This could be due to your older age or caring  for your child while pregnant.

Feel baby move earlier : You may feel your baby move earlier in your second pregnancy. This could be due to the fact that you know what to expect and can tell when it’s the movement of the baby.

Different breast changes : During your second pregnancy, breast tenderness and increase in size may not be as much as earlier pregnancy.

Earlier Braxton Hicks contractions : You may notice braxton hicks contractions earlier in your second pregnancy than the first.

Shorter labor : Labor this time round may be shorter than the previous pregnancy.

It is also possible that if you had pregnancy complications such as hypertension, gestational diabetes and premature birth, the chances of getting it again in the second or later pregnancy is higher. You need to talk to your health care provider about your signs and symptoms so that he can take steps to reduce your risk.
