It is not uncommon to develop fever during pregnancy or after childbirth. The fever is usually caused by a viral infection. Mild fevers are usually not a cause for concern. However if the fever is not getting better with treatment such as taking acetaminophen  or does not improve over several days, it may be an indication of a more serious problem .
