At pregnancy week 25, you might be feeling a lot of things: anxiety, anticipation, excitement (and fear, when you think about delivering the baby!). To avoid any trouble at the last moment, make sure you have preregistered in a hospital for labor so that all your paperwork is there. Don’t feel too nervous about the delivery. You will also have a lot of sleepless nights and constantly feel an urge to pee so increase your liquid intake during the day and cut it back slightly at night so that you have to take fewer bathroom breaks.

How’s the Baby Doing At Pregnancy Week 25?

By pregnancy week 25, your baby will almost be the size of a cauliflower, measuring somewhere between 13.6 and 14.8 inches. The average weight of babies at this time is between 1.5 to 2.5 pounds, which shows your baby is growing now. The baby now has a perfect sense of equilibrium, knowing which way is down and which way is up. The baby is also growing more hair and fats by now, getting ready for their grand entry into the world.

The Symptoms At Pregnancy Week 25

The normal symptoms you’ll be experiencing this week include:

  • Constipation and hemorrhoids; fiber-rich food can help you avoid this.
  • Heartburn, bloating and gas since the baby starts pushing on your digestive tract.
  • Pains and aches all over due to frequent fluctuations in hormones.
  • Trouble in sleeping due to the growing belly and frequent peeing.

What to Do?

Even though it will be getting a bit difficult, make sure you wear your seatbelt securely whenever you are in a vehicle. If you are near someone who is smoking, make sure you move well away as your baby can be affected by passive smoking. At night, lying on your left side will be good in aiding sleep. If you experience any unusual symptoms, like bleeding or pain, contact your doctor or midwife at the earliest.
