Not necessarily this week, but it will not be long before you start feeling some fluttering sensations. Yes, that’s your baby moving; and in the coming weeks, you will be able to feel it more clearly. Your lungs would probably feel crowded by now, leaving you breathless from time to time. On the plus side though, you will have thick and glowing hair by now and your skin will have a natural radiant glow that can be hard to miss.

How’s the Baby Doing ?

By week 16, your baby will almost be the size of an avocado (and a big one!), measuring about 4.6 inches in length and weighing almost 3.5 ounces. By now, your baby’s listening to your voice as the tiny bones in its ears grow, creating recognition. So start chatting with him or her. The hair, eyebrows and lashes and of the baby will also start growing by this week, and the taste buds would be well developed.

The Symptoms

The symptoms you would experience in this week include:

  • Frequent back aches, which indicate that you should start doing a bit of exercises
  • Forgetfulness
  • Sensitive, dry and itchy eyes
  • Glowing skin and faster growth of hair and nails
  • Constipation

What to Do ?

If you have not already had your specialized blood tests by now, ask your obstetrician about it and get it done as soon as possible. If flu is making the rounds in town, get yourself vaccinated. Talking to the baby and taking photos of your pregnancy bump to keep track of your performance are also some things you would want to do. Finally, if you have not already thought about it, you might start making a baby names list.
